Unacceptable forms of ID:
Social Security card
Birth certificate
Wedding license
Credit cards are NOT acceptable as a form of I.D., as they lack sufficient information for the notary to determine if the person presenting them is the person whose name appears on them.
We CANNOT notarize:
- Certified Copies of Death/Birth Certificates
- Marriage Licenses
- Documents Not Completely filled out
- I-9 or Immigration Documents
- Copyrighted Material
- Photographs
- Translated Documents
Notary Team CANNOT
- Change, alter or draft any instrument to be notarized (by law)
- Determine which type of notarial certificate should be attached to a document that does not contain one
- Perform a notarial act on a military base that a federal enclave or an Indian reservation
- Refuse a request for notarial services on the basis of the sex, age, religion, race, ethnicity or national origin of the requesting party
Fees
Travel or After Hours Fees are not included in the allowable fee by the state of Texas
Tex. Gov't. Code Ann. § 406.024 sets out the maximum fees a Notary Public, or their
employer, may charge for notary public services. A Notary Public who charges more than the
maximum set out below subjects the notary to possible criminal prosecution and suspension
or revocation of the notary’s notary public commission by the Secretary of State's office.
- Acknowledgments - $10.00 (Each additional signature on the same document $1.00 each)
- Oaths or affirmations - $10.00
- Protesting in all other cases - $4.00
- Copy certification - $10.00
- Depositions - $1.00 per 100 words
- Uncertified copy of a record from a notary journal - $1.00
- All other certificates under seal not otherwise listed - $10.00
